Street Fighter 6 is a phenomenon among fighting games. Three years into the game's lifespan it's reaching new all time player highs with over 70,000+ concurrent players on just Steam alone when the most recent character Ingrid joined the game. It's a major return to form for Street Fighter, which once was one of the major players in the gaming world but fell into nicheness after the divisive (yet amazing) Street Fighter 3. The best part of 6 is how accessible it makes fighting games without sacrificing what dedicated players love. The Modern Control scheme is a genius way to remove complicated inputs for those who struggle with them via a system of fair tradeoffs that has it so some characters are even tournament viable with the Modern Control scheme all while maintaining the original Classic Controls people know and love. ~Jules (May 2026)
